Love Shouldn’t Hurt Domestic Violence Awareness Month banner.

Every October, we unite to raise awareness, honor survivors, and remember those we've lost to domestic violence. At Domestic Violence Services of Snohomish County, we envision a future free from abuse, and it begins with education, advocacy, and community support. Throughout the month, we will share resources, survivor stories, and opportunities for action. Join us in transforming awareness into change. Together, we are unstoppable.

WHY DVAM MATTERS

You may be asking yourself, “Why is this important to me?” Domestic violence impacts individuals from all walks of life, and it goes beyond just physical harm; it encompasses emotional and financial abuse as well. It’s essential to recognize that everyone deserves to feel safe and valued in their relationships.

  • Educates: We need to recognize the signs of unhealthy relationships to protect ourselves and our friends.
  • Destigmatizes: Talking about domestic violence openly helps break the stigma and makes it easier for people who experience abuse to seek help.
  • Empowers: Share Your Story to empower others and build a supportive community!
